Tourism on the Galapagos Islands of Ecuador - South América



The Galapagos Archipelago or also known as Turtle Island is located 972 km west of mainland Ecuador.

Are 14 main islands and 20 smaller islands. Galapagos islands county has 17,000 inhabitants, a total area of just over 8,000 square kilometers, divided into 3 cantons.

The island has its own history and charm that those who live here tell each of them.

This archipelago was declared a natural heritage of humanity in 1978 for its unique flora and fauna.

The Galapagos Marine Reserve protects marine and island environments.
